Why 'MAYUMI'?
Taking after my middle name, Mayumi means 'tender' and 'refined' in Filipino. There’s a timeless appeal in gemstones and the stories they tell. I created MAYUMI jewelry to go beyond accessorizing; it’s about connecting with the natural world and honoring our cultural heritage that shapes us. Each piece displays high-quality craftsmanship and encourages inclusivity—designed to be cherished by people who value beauty, nature, and meaningful connections. From the word’s innate meaning, MAYUMI approaches jewelry with tenderness and modesty that places thoughtful design at the center of each piece.

MAYUMI's story starts with my grandfather, Gerald Rogers, who was a New York businessman with a deep appreciation for natural gemstones. His passion led him to Bangkok, where he learned about the world of gems.

This legacy extended on to his son (my dad), Kenny Rogers, a gemologist who continued the family's journey. Eventually, dad had his own family, and I found myself hoping to explore this special fascination for gems, too.

Inspired by my father and grandfather before him, I grew up with a profound appreciation for the natural beauty and cultural significance of gems. Following in my dad’s footsteps, I studied at GIA Bangkok, where I became an Applied Jewelry Professional. MAYUMI is my personal take on gemstones and jewelry, tying together perspectives from people I have met around the world while integrating these with my own multicultural roots.
